Yadavindra Department of Sciences, Talwandi Sabo (YDoS) earlier a part of Yadavindra College of Engineering was established in the year 2004 to develop critical thinking and logical reasoning using various methods of investigations i.e., observation, comparison, and experimentation.
The primary objective in setting up this department was the transformation for the society specifically in science and technical education in the heart of Malwa region of Punjab. The vision and mission of the department to be globally acclaimed as educational hub of north India and to empower rural students with knowledge through quality education. The main objective of the department is to inculcate scientific temperament, to create rightful awareness on opportunities, among the students to build a brightful career and to provide a distinct environment of excellence in education with human values. The science department is also committed to inculcate the habit of learning the subjects through practical realities and view science as an interdisciplinary approach so that they are able to serve the society through practical applications.
To accomplish the objectives, the department has adequate infrastructure, well qualified and experienced update drawn from various streams. Moreover, every course has been specially developed by a panel consisting of leading academic and industry experts. While the degree programs qualify a student for a career in functional area of every discipline, the intent is to produce professional who will be the harbingers of change.
Department provides the foundation courses to be transferred into four-year Engineering program or three-year Science program.
ਯਾਦਵਿੰਦਰਾ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਤਲਵੰਡੀ ਸਾਬੋ (YDoS) ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਯਾਦਵਿੰਦਰਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਫ਼ ਇੰਜੀਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ (YCoE) ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਸਾਲ 2004 ਵਿੱਚ ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਨਿਰੀਖਣ, ਤੁਲਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਯੋਗ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਲੋਚਨਾਤਮਿਕ ਸੋਚ ਅਤੇ ਤਰਕਸ਼ੀਲ ਸੋਚ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਕਸਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਵਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਪੱਧਰ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਚੁੱਕਣਾ ਸੀ। ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦਾ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਦਿਅਕ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪੱਧਰ 'ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਵਿਭਾਗ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ, ਮੌਕਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਹੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ, ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਕਦਰਾਂ-ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਤਮਤਾ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਯਾਦਵਿੰਦਰਾ ਸਾਇੰਸਜ਼ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਹਕੀਕਤਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਆਦਤ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਤਰ-ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੋ ਸਕਣ।
>ਉਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਵਿਭਾਗ ਕੋਲ ਢੁਕਵਾਂ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਢਾਂਚਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਤਜਰਬੇਕਾਰ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ, ਹਰ ਕੋਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਦਯੋਗਿਕ ਮਾਹਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੈਨਲ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਹਰ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਲਈ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਯੋਗ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਾਡਾ ਇਰਾਦਾ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਪੇਸ਼ੇਵਾਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਬੀਤ ਰਹੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ- ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਜ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ। ਵਿਭਾਗ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਫਾਊਂਡੇਸ਼ਨ ਕੋਰਸ ਚਲਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਕੋਰਸ ਜਾਂ ਚਾਰ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੰਜਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਕੋਰਸ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।

All facets of education focus on the building core values which contribute towards national development while fostering comprehensive competencies among students. As we strongly advocate and adhere to Benjamin Disraeli thought that “we need better education to have better thoughts, to be better human persons, to build a better society”. The department offers courses in different streams of sciences and has twenty update members (14 Ph.D). YDoS provides an excellent and conducive environment for dreaming big and reinforce students with critical thinking, research skills, scientific temper and compassion so that their dreams become reality.
With every success saga, our fetish for encompassing excellence grows day by day and we try to benchmark our performance with the best in the field. For overall personality development of the students we endeavour to organise various co-curricular activities during which students are provided with ample opportunities to hone their skills. We also strongly believe that education is the route for growth, self-assessment in pursuit of excellence. YDoS is endowed with spacious green campus, large library, state level sports facility, hostels, staff quarters and peaceful atmosphere providing enthralling experience for studies and over all development of students.
